Introductions

This morning Dick Loomis gave us a beautiful prayer asking for God’s blessing on all those who selflessly serve our community and our nation. Buck’s grandson lead off the Pledge of Allegiance.
EAGLE SCOUT PRESENTATION

Today, Sawyer Eade, accompanied by his Dad, was here to give us a briefing on his planned Eagle Scout project to build a Garden Path from the Special Ed classroom at CHS over to the garden area. First a little about Sawyer. He’s been a Boy Scout and Cub Scout in Coronado for 10 years, he’s currently the Sr Patrol Leader and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Sawyer plans to study Engineering in college.

The Garden Path project will provide wheel chair access form the Special Ed classroom to the Garden Area along a granite slab walkway. The project will also include additional wheel chair accessible planter boxes. Sawyer has received all necessary approvals from the school for the project and is now raising the $900 he estimates will be the final costs. I think Sawyer will make a great engineer someday, his computer generated drawings of the project, bill of material and over all planning was very professional. Well done Sawyer.

Guests

In addition to our guest speaker, Shelley Parker and Sawyer Eade our Eagle Scout candidate, we had Mike Croll with us today. Mike, a guest of John Bowen, was making his second visit. His application is in and we had unofficial word that its been accepted. So we should be welcoming Mike into the club at a future meeting.

Shelley developed the website and currently maintains it on a weekly basis. The Website has lots of information about the club and our activities. It’s meant for club members, potential club members, the community, sponsors etc. There is a members only area that is password protected. The password for those interested will be sent out under a separate email. The best thing to do is to just go on the sight and explore. There are many drop down menus that will tell everything you ever wanted to know about the club and the activities we support.
