Today’s meeting was action packed.  Lots of our youth recipients came to share their projects successes.  President Crawford declared our Thanksgiving Movie event a roaring success with a completely packed house, and a lot of kudos from attendees.
Optimists did it again!

CHA Mens Basketball Team – The tall guys to the right between Don and Paul Lull came over from the CHS BB team to invite us to Saturday’s home opener. Next to Don is Michael Manning’s son Myles who was the team spokesman and thanked us for our support.

Eagle Scout Candidate Cole Mullins talked about his Eagle Scout Project at Coronado Middle School, bringing the CMS garden back to life. He has big plans that the scouts are already going to town on. Cole is a leading member of our Octagon organization and has risen to Lt. Gov of the San Diego Youth organization. Go get ’em, Cole!

The honorable Mayor Richard Bailey, Coronado Optimist, was on hand to introduce Rep. Todd Gloria who told us how the recent legislative session was the most progressive and productive in recent memory. Transportation, Climate Change and Homeless were all acted on. He answered questions on the bullet train, unfunded pensions, and student loan debt.

NEXT WEEK Don Crawford will discuss our Coronado Optimist Foundation.
